Alvin Ozawa
Operations Supervisor
UCSF Medical Center Support Services
DEI Committee, Workforce Task Force Team Co-Lead
What is your role in BCH?
I am the Work Force Task Force Team Co-Lead
Can you describe to me the organization culture at BCH?
The BCH is a wonderful organization. Their commitment to patient care is the priority overall.
What is your personal story? How did you get here?
I was born and raised in San Francisco. My Mother was from Japan and my Father was from France. Being raised as a mixed kid, I did not feel like I always belonged. I started at UCSF in IT and have grown through my career. I very much enjoy working for UCSF and I hope to continue to grow with the organization.
How do you see Diversity, Equity and Inclusion integrated at BCH?
DEI is very important to me because I am aware of the issues we face at BCH. We do have a large, diverse staff, but not everyone has the same opportunities to grow in their careers. I hope to help guide our organization to give everyone the best opportunity to succeed in their careers at UCSF.
