Christine Aganon, RN, MSN
Nurse Manager
BCH Oakland

What is your role in BCH?

I am the Nurse Manager at the Juvenile Justice Center (JJC/Fairmont Clinic)

Can you describe to me the organization culture at BCH?

The organization culture @ BCH is built on collaboration. The level of respect & professionalism amongst colleagues and partners truly sets BCH in a class all our own.

What is your personal story? How did you get here?

This month marks my 12th year with BCH. I started at the JJC first through a registry, then worked as a staff nurse when BCH acquired the contract with Alameda County to service the youth at the JJC, became a Charge Nurse & ultimately was presented with the amazing opportunity to be the Nurse Manager. It’s where I’m supposed to be.

How do you see Diversity, Equity and Inclusion integrated at BCH?

BCH nurtures a welcoming & supportive culture & embraces a diverse community. This is evident in the ways cultural differences are celebrated as well as the vast opportunities for everyone to maximize their potential.
