Black History Month 2020

History of the Black Caucus Film Screening
February 27, 2020

During the Civil Rights Movement African American workers at UCSF, known as the “basement people” because of their disparate working conditions, went on strike to advocate for change. The Janitor’s Strike at UCSF was the catalyst for institutional change that resulted in recruitment and retention efforts for historically underrepresented students, faculty, and staff.

In honor of African American History month, we will be screening the short films History of the UCSF Black Caucus- Part I, II and Janitor’s Strike on Thursday, February 27th 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Cafeteria Conference Room in Oakland and at A1615 Polycom Conference Room at BCH Mission Bay. Feel free to bring your lunch and enjoy a light dessert.
