We propose to make Juneteenth a recognized UC-wide holiday by next year. Below is a link to a UC-focused letter addressed to the Board of Regents and others who have the power to make this important change across all 10 UC campuses. We ask for the support of UC staff members, Departments and campuses, in addition to the Black Caucus. Anyone within the UC system can and is encouraged to sign.
Currently we have the support of over 200 UCSF/UCSF-affiliated faculty and staff members, as well as students, and would love to gain more support.
