May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! We encourage you to show your UCSF PRIDE by sharing your APA Heritage with your colleagues and friends. Here are a few ways you can share.

  • Change your social media and Zoom profile picutre to reflect your APA Heritage
  • On Zoom use a virtual background showing your APA Heritage (Bonus if the photo is one your took yourself)
  • Share APA phone, recipes, and stories. Use the #ucsfapaheritage and #apaheritage tag
  • Add "May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month" and/or an image showing yoru APA Heritage to your Email Signature

Resilience & Transformative Organzing

Join the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) for the last installation of our Social Justice Series 2020. For this workshop, we will  review the Transformative Organizing (TO) framework by doing a deeper dive on one of the TO principals of critical reflection and identify/map our roles in social ecosystems (Deepa Iyer, 2020) and how that may impact/influence our work. 

The space is for new, emerging, and seasoned leaders (staff, student, faculty, and alumni) that are interested in learning tools to approach leadership and organizing work from a grass roots and humanizing perspective.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Office of Minority Health 

During Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) celebrates the achievements and contributions of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. Throughout the observance in May, OMH will honor the rich culture of Asians and Pacific Islanders and promote overall health by encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle, regular doctor visits, and better eating habits.

May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in paying tribute to the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America's history and are instrumental in its future success.
